Description
This is a stunning pair of antique Burmese wooden monk figures from the 19th century. The intricate craftsmanship and attention to detail make these figures a true masterpiece. The primary material used is wood, and the figures depict Buddhist monks dressed in red and gold robes adorned with Mirrored and colorful glass.These figures are believed to have originated from Mandalay, Burma and are estimated to be from the period between 1850-1899. They are considered to be an original antique pair and would make a great addition to any collection of Asian antiques.
The seated disciples, with gilded gold and inlay of colorful glass pieces on the borders of the robes, one of them sitting in adoration posture with two hands attached to each other indicating respectful manner (Namaskara Mudra). The other Representing Sariputta

The other is approximately 6.5" tall x 4.5" wide x 6" deep
