GOOD CONDITION. 3-inch reel in color. Standard 8mm. Played fine on my projector from start to finish.
MY FAVORITE PART OF THIS REEL IS THE CRAZY WILD HOMEMADE HATS MADE AND WORN BY THE WOMEN IN THE GROUP. I'VE SEEN THIS IN OTHER VINTAGE REELS. IT WAS A FUN THING BACK IN THE DAY. I LOVE IT.
Date: Exact date is unknown. Looks to be from the 1960s.
Content: Looks like a women's meeting or group at a local church. Note on the box reads "LADIES AID". There's some info about the history of LADIES AID groups on the internet if you google it.
Location: This came from a small box of reels where most of the footage was shot in Shellsburg, Iowa. In one of the reels, the family stands in front of the post office in Shellsburg and the name of the town is clear on the window. BUT, that scene is NOT in this footage. Just saying that's why I think this footage is also from Shellsburg. There are no street scenes in this footage.
