Primitive lovers shouldn't be without a nice, old mangle board! Carved from a single piece of wood, quite heavy and measures approx. 28" x 3" x 1.5" (71 x 7.5 x 4 cm). It has a terrific, old, unrestored patina. One side is completely smooth while the other has carved ridges which show age and wear from use. In the 19th century, mangle boards were typically used in combination with wooden rods to smooth wrinkles out of fabrics and to beat down woven fabric into a linen-type texture. They were also used for scrubbing clothes clean. This one has a carved handle, rich coloring, and beautiful graining. Excellent for displaying on a wall, in a trencher, in a copper boiler, or on a shelf! Please see the photos and let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.
