    Description

    United States Lines: From the onboard S.S. UNITED STATES china service, a Gray Star pattern 6.25" diameter plate described in the USL china manual as a "bread and butter plate".
    Bottom-marked on the plate is the manufacturer's name along with "Made Expressly for United States Lines". Since the Gray Star was also sold as a stock pattern to restaurants, it is always important to look for the U.S. Lines' name.
    The attached photo shows bread and butter plates onboard in the Tourist Class Dining Room.
    Excellent condition.
