This slice of American country life is entitled "Maytag Morning" by renowned artist Randy Souders. This print is personally hand autographed by the artist.
This print features a typical country back porch on wash day. Viewers will delight in the plaid sock dangling from the wringer as well as the boxes of “Gold Dust Twins” and “20 Mule Team” soaps. There’s a washtub with a “Duz Rite scrub-board (note the kitten trying to bat the tiny stream of water squirting out the side of the leaky tub). There’s the usual assortment of clutter found on any country back porch. Note the birdcage, a shelf containing a wooden egg crate, coffee grinder, and kerosene lamp. There’s a Morton’s Salt thermometer hanging on the wall next to a flyswatter as well as an ornate pressed-back wooden chair, gingerbread style screen door and a white enameled coffee pot full of marigolds. This print features the actual Maytag washing machine owned by the Randy's grandmother. A feature article was written about Randy and this painting in the Maytag corporate magazine!
As with all his work, you'll want to look for the artists' trademark "Tom cat." This print will be the perfect addition to any traditional, nostalgic, Americana, or domestic arts collection!
