Opium Weight

Description

This is an antique opium or medicinal bronze weight for use in a traditional weighing scale. It is a relatively sizeable weight - a cockerel figurine approximately 6.5cm height and weighing 150gm. The origin of the weight is Burma. Obtained at source in Burma more than 25 years ago (before its name-change to Myanmar).
