SS UNITED STATES LINES Silver Bud Vase / Manhattan Pattern / Top Condition

Description

This is a heavy silver bud vase from "The SS United States Liner", which measures 10 1/2" tall. This dining room bud vase was manufactured expressly for the "Big U" by the "Gorham Silver Company", which is stamped on the bottom. The signature "Manhattan" pattern encircles the base. Unlike this one, the vast majority of these bud vases are beat-up and bent to one side, hence...poor condition. This piece polishes-up very nicely, and was originally purchased at the 1984 SSUS at auction in Norfolk, Virginia.
