Two Scallop Shell Fossils Virginia Chesapecten Jeffersonius and One Oyster Shell Fossil
These large specimens contain multiple shells and shell fragments throughout. Carbonate from the shells has mixed with clay and silty sand and other shell fragments and they are “glued” together.
Found in Virginia on Mobjack Bay.
