Vintage Metal Soccer or Football Pinball Style Arcade Game Kicker Pull Plunger Kicks Ball
Up for bid and for your consideration is a vintage metal soccer or football, pinball style, game kicker. Pull the spring loaded plunger and he kicks the ball!
This kicker would be a cool addition to your soccer collection or maybe you have the game that this goes to, well here ya go!
The details:
The piece is 2-11/16 inches wide, 10 inches long and almost 6-1/2 inches tall.
There is an indent in front of his right foot where you place a ball. You would then pull the plunger back and release it. The end of the plunger would strike the back of the players foot which then swings from the hip to kick the ball. I am guessing this went to some kind of pinball style game where the ball is kicked into a playing field and it would roll around, hopefully into some sort of scoring position. You could also make up your own game!
The piece is marked: "PAT 5246" in raised letters next to the right foot. This dates it between 1847 and 1848 according to an "Issue years for patent numbers" chart I found online, but this seems very unlikely to me as it just doesn't seem that old!
It is made of some sort of metal. The inner rod of the plunger and the screws and bolts attract a magnet. The other components do not.
