Vintage Mystery Dog Photo - JUST IDENTIFIED!

Description

This is a 1970s vintage photo of what appears at first glance to be a mop or a Star Trek "Tribble," but is actually a dog. The photo is glossy black & white, measures overall 8" x 9 7/8", the reverse has a rubberstamp from UPI, and attached to the bottom is a small press release dated 1978 and is titled "Hair of the Dog."
[Update! Another eBayer has just identified this mystery dog. It is a Komondor, also referred to as a "Hungarian Sheepdog" and a "Mop Dog."]
