Onboard circuitry uses a simple I2C, two wire serial communications protocol for more complex charging and power management.  Great for DIY power-wall hackers.  Built to be idiot-proof as well as bullet-proof!   Designed to strict Military specifications.  Resistant to water and dust beyond IP68.  Great for many different uses, such as stargazing, remote security power, robotics, camping, emergency power, remotely powering tools or appliances, solar energy storage systems.
